Nanobiotechnology can be defined as the utilization of nanotechnology in biological sciences, or more so in Biotechnology. The Biological Engineering laboratories (BEL) was founded in 2008 by the New Ideas Research Institute (NIRI) in conjunction with the faculty of New Technologies and Energy Engineering at Shahid Beheshti University. The goal of this lab is to conduct research projects within a scientific realm. Considering the undeniable benefits and the development of Enzymology, Material technology and Nanoscience, this lab has concentrated on applicable areas such as Bioenergy, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Protein engineering and Electrospinning.
